Setup
• Download and install the latest version of SilkTest
• Open up the executable and follow the on screen instructions. During installation, enter license server location:
• hostname (example: athena) or IP of license server
• 5461 for port
• If you need to change where the license server is grabbing licenses from, go to Start/Programs/SilkTest/Change Your License Server Configuration
• Enter in the new entry and Test Connection
• Once connection is successful, select OK to save.

Configure SilkTest – Agent
• Before using SilkTest, enable extensions for Agent software and Host
• Enable Agent Extension
• Go to Start/Programs/SilkTest/Extension Enabler
• Select all the browsers you will be using (Internet Explorer 6)
• Select method of Primary Extension:
• DOM (Document Object Model) – Preferred
• VO (Virtual Object)- This method is being phased out
• Refer to Help Files for further comparisons
Configure SilkTest – Host
• Enable Host Extension
• Open SilkTest
• Within SilkTest, go to Options/Extensions
• Select default browser to be used (Internet Explorer 6)
• Select Primary Extension DOM
Configure Browser
• Ensure there are no pop-blockers active (IE, Yahoo, etc).
• Screen saver: Disable or increase time to a long period of hours so it does not interrupt the scripts
• Power Save: Disable this as well as the screen turning off will interrupt the scripts.
• Close other applications: Scripts run best when there are no other applications running at the same time such as Instant Messenger and Email programs.
